Jackie is a writer and editor based in Wellington, NZ. She tells stories about the experience of being Chinese diaspora, complex families, and connection.
She has been published in Newsroom, Headland, The Spinoff, Turbine | Kapohau, Capital Magazine, takahē magazine, Kete Books, and the Berkeley Review, and holds an MA in Creative Writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters.
Jackie is represented by Naomi Eisenbeiss at InkWell Management.

Jackie has had a number of short stories and articles published both in New Zealand and internationally.
In 2023, she was Highly Commended in the New Zealand Sargeson Prize by then judge, the-late Vincent O’Sullivan.

Jackie is an experienced and professional freelance editor who offers a variety of services with a fast turn-around time.
She loves working with debut authors and emerging writers, but understands that when you're in this position, your budget may be tight. If you're a new writer interested in working together, please get in touch with your requirements and experience, as rates may be negotiable (at her discretion).
While happy to work with fiction and non-fiction across the board, Jackie may not be your best bet for hard Sci-Fi or High Fantasy.
Jackie is a member of yinfluence editorial, a Trans-Tasman editorial collective focused on working with PoC, Queer, and neurodivergent writers.
